Management Buy-In (‘MBI’) teams are driven by ambition and the desire for financial gain. The characteristics of an MBI share those of an MBO and a corporate acquisition with the transaction risk being similar to that of an acquisition but the financial success or failure being personal as in the case of an MBO.

With the average length of time to completion being typically 12 months, Management Buy-Ins (‘MBIs’) require stamina not just for the management team but for its advisors as well.
